Our Story
In the heart of the Lake Norman community, a journey began that blends time-honored craft with personal passion. What began over five decades ago with a young artisan quietly mastering the tools of the trade has grown into a trusted name for jewelry lovers across Cornelius, the greater Charlotte area, and beyond.
The founder, Master Jeweler Michael Malyszko, started his life in jewelry long before the first store opened its doors. For more than fifty years he refined his skill in design, repair and diamond setting, driven by a belief that every piece of jewelry tells a story and deserves the utmost care. After a brief attempt at retirement, his love for creating and restoring cherished treasures drew him back to the bench, and he opened his doors by appointment to offer a truly personal experience; hence the name “Your Private Jeweler”.
As the business blossomed, the next chapter began when his son, Alex Malyszko, joined the craft. Having apprenticed under his father and earning his degree as a GIA Graduate Gemologist, he entered the family business merging fresh vision with deep respect for tradition. Together they’ve continued a legacy rooted in integrity, quality and the belief that jewelry should celebrate life’s moments.

Mike built his reputation the traditional way, one relationship at a time. Every ring sized, every heirloom restored, every diamond set was treated with care and precision. Our platform features a fully customizable Ring Builder along with a carefully curated selection of natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds, and vibrant colored gemstones.
